Agricultural Biotechnology
This contest is designed to provide the student an opportunity to display their agricultural knowledge and skills in the area of Biotechnology. The individuals who participated in the event completed several activities including a general knowledge exam and an identification activity. The team members also collaborated in a team activity relating to biotechnology principles.

Dairy Cattle Evaluation
The goal for this contest is to provide agricultural students with dairy interests a practical experience, which will serve them well in industry positions or in management of a modern dairy herd. Also to develop students’ skills in observation, analysis, and communication. Finally, to provide experience in the evaluation of dairy cattle type, production records, and dairy herd management.

Soil Evaluation
The object of this event is to motivate students to gain knowledge on surface features, the soil profile, land capability and productivity, evaluation of land use and management practices, and suitability of soils for nonagricultural uses. It is also designed to develop the ability to observe selected soil properties and to interpret and evaluate these properties for recommendations for land use.
Grace Olson, Kyle Wessels, Parker Kress, Eric Tempus, Addy Gericke and Blake Lindsay competed in soils. Teams placed 25th and 44th respectively.
